Qian Liu was the king of Wuyue during the late Tang Dynasty and the founder of Hangzhou. This title tells the story of how he rose to prominence amid war and chaos, gained widespread acclaim, defended his homeland, and brought prosperity to the people. Born into poverty, he resolutely joined the military and engaged in a battle of wits against separatist warlords, protecting the land and its people in turbulent times. He promoted agriculture and sericulture, built water conservancy projects, constructed seawalls, expanded maritime trade, and fostered commerce… His legendary tales have become the beautiful folklore of the "Paradise on Earth."
